Have you been experiencing performance issues using Autodesk Advance Steel after a software renewal?
We have gotten a lot of support requests regarding users experiencing slow performance in Advance Steel a few days after renewing their licenses. For example: Advance Steel taking a long time opening models of any size, orbiting and panning around the model being very slow, etc.
In most cases, we found that customer's experiencing the slow performance in Advance Steel, also have the Graitec PowerPack installed, but the license is expired or has not been activated yet.
If you are experiencing slow performance and have the Powerpack for Advance Steel installed, please double check if you need to activate the Powerpack with a valid license. To do this, go to the Powerpack tab >> under the Learn dropdown menu and go to About.
This will open the About dialog box. Select the License tab and check the expiration date. If it has passed or if there is no serial number listed, you need to contact your Contract Manager (or whoever handles your Autodesk licenses at your company) and ask for a Powerpack license.
When a customer chooses to renew Powerpack licenses, they will receive a Graitec Entitlement email with their new Powerpack serial number and activation ID. The Powerpack license end dates generally follow the Autodesk subscription end dates as well. If you are the Contract Manager for your company and do not see the Graitec Entitlement email after renewing your powerpack licenses, please check your junk mail since these emails are coming from our automated email address. If you have issues finding your current powerpack licenses, you can always reach out to our support team for assistance.
Once you have your current Powerpack serial number and activation ID, here is how to activate the license:
To activate the Powerpack, go to the Powerpack tab >> open the License Utility under the Learn dropdown menu at the right side of the ribbon:
Use the “Activate a license” and then follow the prompts to input your serial number and activation ID:
